An Introduction from the MMTA Board: The Independent Music Teacher Forum Chair

My name is Vinh Pham and I’m excited to introduce myself as a recently appointed Independent Music Teacher Forum Chair on the MMTA Board. If you are wondering what this position entails, you are not alone and sometimes I wonder, too!

For starters, I see myself as a facilitator for all you passionate music educators out there. Are you thinking about starting a brand new studio? Or, have you already established a solid foundation for your studio and looking for more ways to grow? Or, are you already a super star teacher, and looking for some ways to give back to your community?

As the IMTF chair, and an independent music teacher myself, I hope to be able to shed some light on any questions that you might have relating to independent music teaching. In the near future, I also hope to be able to contribute interesting articles to the already wonderful collection of MMTA newsletters and blog posts from the past.

It is always difficult to begin the next step, wherever one might be. As an independent music teacher, our choices can be unique and the path ahead barren, but we are not alone.
