Musical Achievement Evaluations

2024 MAE will be hosted on April 6 (Saturday) from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at The Latvian Lutheran Church of Boston.

The Musical Achievement Evaluations (MAE) is a non-competitive program intended to provide an encouraging and safe atmosphere for students to gain constructive feedback on their performance.

Musical Achievement Evaluations are offered to students on all levels to:

  • Praise strengths

  • Encourage continued study

  • Identify areas of weakness

  • Reinforce the student/teacher relationship

For information and inquiries, please contact the MAE Chair Nicolas Sterner at mae@mmta.net.

Registration for 2024 MAE is closed.

Meeting one-on-one with an evaluator, students will perform their selected repertoire and receive written and verbal feedback, as well as have an opportunity to practice the suggested improvements with the evaluator during the assessment.

All instrumentalists are encouraged to enroll.

There is no required repertoire list - Students (with their teacher’s guidance) are free to select any repertoire they wish to work on, as long as it fits within the time limits of their evaluation level.  Memorization is encouraged, but optional.
