Amazing Contribution on Behalf of MMTA’s Music Connect Program

Marcelline Merrill, our MMTA Treasurer, and a brilliant pianist, single-handedly presented a beautiful Benefit Concert for MMTA’s Music Connect Program. It was held on April 13, 2025, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Westwood.  Over $1060.00 was raised, representing about 36 half-hour lessons.  (We generally grant 32 lessons for the academic year, so this is OVER a year of lessons!). Marcy intended for all funds raised by this event to be donated, so this was ALL for our wonderful Music Connect Program!

Thank you to Brooke Merrill for her help and support, and to everyone who came and donated, and especially to Marcy!

I encourage others to present Benefit Concerts for MMTA’s Music Connect Program. Here is our mission:

We are truly connected in our love of music-making and in the joy we feel when we help a student put music in their heart forever!

MMTA believes that any child who has musical ability and interest in playing an instrument or singing deserves the opportunity to explore this talent.

The MMTA Music Connect Program (MCP) offers music lessons tuition-free to students who have a demonstrated financial need and will study with an MMTA member in good standing.
